Avila Home Care is excited to announce that our Caregiver of the Month for July 2025 is Jestina Thomas! Jestina was selected for her reliability, strong work ethic, and deep knowledge of care practices. She consistently shows perseverance, especially when working with complex or challenging cases, and remains calm and steady under pressure. Her dependability and professionalism make her a truly valued member of the Avila team. Avila Nurse Debbie Foreman shares, “Jestina is a hardworking, conscientious, gentle-spirited caregiver who is adaptable to a client’s changing needs. She is dependable and cares for the whole person—physically, emotionally, and spiritually. A Life of Miracles- In Honor of Avila Home Care Client Helen “Halina” Silber
Avila Home Care was blessed to care for Helen “Halina” Silber until her passing this year. A survivor of the Holocaust, she was number 16 of the 1200 souls on Schindler’s list.
“She always said that her life had been a series of ‘miracles with improbable ends and that God was with me all the way,’ and he was until the end of her days,” her daughter Fran reflects.
