Lisa has a Bachelor of Science degree in Communications from Towson University, and for over 10 years she worked in assisted living in Baltimore City at every level- human resources, compliance, hiring, training and managing caregiver and client relationships. She met Avila’s Founder and CEO Danny O’Brien through Grace Fellowship Church, and was impressed by his integrity, strong work ethic, and spirited and joyful personality. In addition to being a parishioner at Grace, for 8 years Lisa coordinated the production of weekend services, including five services with a total of 6000 people. Lisa also worked with the young adult ministry at Grace. “I’m quite simply a lover of people, and my faith plays a huge part in that.”

Lisa’s incredible attention to detail, and her capacity to help people fulfill their idea of becoming the best person they can be, absolutely shown during her time working at Grace, leading to a job offer at Avila Home Care. Her event planning skills, extraordinary talent for networking and devotion to volunteer work has contributed to Lisa’s excelling in her role of Client Services Manager at Avila.

“Often times when people reach out to Avila, our team is entering into their particular crisis. We walk side by side with them in the valley, and take time to listen and learn about their loved one and their family’s unique situation and needs. I love that it’s Avila’s mission to sit in the hard places with people and make sure they feel heard and understood. We know that it’s important to know when to speak, and when to be quiet and just listen.”

While raising her four lovely children, Lisa also continues to enjoy learning new things- the arts, singing, playing the guitar and soccer- her talents never cease to amaze!
