My story in a nutshell
I’ve enjoyed the great privilege throughout my professional career to serve in roles that make a real difference in the lives of real people. Avila Home Care represents the integration of my professional experiences in senior living, health care and pastoral ministry. I believe that the diversity of my professional background and experiences will enable us to provide all the care and services that you or your loved one needs to thrive in the home you love – extraordinary care delivered with unparalleled kindness.
My time at Erickson Living
I spent sixteen years as a senior executive and board member of Erickson Living, one of the nation’s leaders in senior living and health care. I served as Executive Director of Charlestown Retirement Community in Catonsville. At the time, it was the largest life-care retirement community in the United States, providing housing and healthcare for over 2,400 residents. I was honored to lead an incredible team of 1,300 staff members dedicated to providing excellent service and care 24/7/365.
My time at Grace
In 2006, I received an unexpected invitation to become the pastor of Grace Fellowship Church. In my younger days, I served in a ministry to teenagers called Young Life and earned my seminary degree. While I had never had the ambition to be a pastor or lead a church, I couldn’t say “no” when I felt God ask me to serve in this way. The past decade has been an amazing privilege of partnering with the families at Grace. We initiated, and have grown, a beautiful ministry for people and families affected by disabilities. I’ve had the holy honor of being alongside people who are experiencing illness, physical and emotional challenges, and death.
