Meet Melissa Zetino,
Client Care Coordinator!

Melissa is delighted to be a Client Care Coordinator with Avila Home Care, “I enjoy the relationships that we form with Caregivers, and I love making matches between Avila’s Caregivers and our clients that I know will blossom into a wonderful bond.” Melissa especially likes the often swift pace of meeting the needs of clients who unexpectedly need support- for example- if they’ve just learned that they are being discharged from the hospital and need care right away at home. It’s important to Melissa that she exudes “patience and makes our clients feel heard and appreciated. I do this by being sincere and simply taking the time to listen.”

Melissa relishes her conversations with Avila’s clients, “they’ve experienced so much through many decades- gained knowledge and wisdom, and taken journeys of great love, sadness, accomplishment, and failure. I’m inspired by their stories- you can always learn something when you speak with a senior about their life.”
During her childhood growing up in New Jersey in a tight-knit family, Melissa learned the importance of being polite to her elders. Her parents taught Melissa to “Make the last years of their lives the best years.”

Given her commitment to making sure that all elders are treated with kindness, love, tenderness, compassion, and patience, Melissa embarked on a career in the field of Health Care. For six years, Melissa worked at a health care company in New Jersey as an office manager in charge of hiring and payroll and then moved with that company to Maryland.
She then worked in Assisted Living as a Business Office Manager for two years. There she saw how Caregivers treated the residents as they would their own grandma and grandpa. Melissa recalls, “Their kindness to the seniors was beautiful- and it made their day!”

Prior to joining Avila Home Care, Melissa most recently worked in the health care industry at Genesis Health Care, onboarding nurses and Caregivers for the company.
Melissa lives with her fiancé, and enjoys gardening, hosting dinner parties, decorating, and spending time with her family. She loves traveling and learning about different cultures and their various delicacies, she joyfully shares “I’m a foody at heart!”

Sharing is caring!
