Wendy brings over 30 years of dedicated nursing experience to her role at Avila Home Care. Driven by a passion for working with seniors and those with chronic health issues, she was inspired to serve at an early age while helping to care for her mother, who had ALS.

In 1989, Wendy received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree from Oral Roberts University. She worked in critical care nursing for 10 years, and for the last 20 years has worked in home care and geriatrics in various capacities. In 2017, Wendy received a Master’s degree in clinical mental health/pastoral counselling from Loyola University in Maryland.

Wendy says, “I particularly appreciate it when seniors are able to stay in their home environments and near their loved ones,” and so when the opportunity arose to work with Avila Home Care as both a Caregiver and an Registered Nurse (RN) 3 ½ years ago, she was delighted. As a Registered Nurse at Avila, Wendy assesses the needs of new clients and develops a Care Plan for Avila’s Caregivers to follow. She also addresses any health and/or nursing issues that might arise for Avila’s clients, and she provides training and support for Avila’s Caregivers.

“Working at Avila Home Care has been an incredibly positive experience. We have a wonderful team of Caregivers, and the administrative team is exceptionally committed to providing extraordinary customer service. The collaboration and supportive culture within our Care Coordination Team is inspiring, and is a tribute to Danny’s leadership.”

Wendy has been married to her husband Frank for 16 years. They are empty-nesters, but are proud parents to a cockapoo and three cats. She loves spending time with her 7 month old granddaughter and several step-grandchildren. Wendy attends Grace Fellowship Church, and co-facilities a Bible study with her husband.
