Meet Joe Dickerson,
Client Care Coordinator at Avila Home Care!

Joe Dickerson brings over 8 years of Customer Service expertise and a passion for helping others to his role as Client Care Coordinator at Avila Home Care.

Joe was inspired to work with seniors while caring for his own grandparents, and he vowed to support others who are faced with some of the same challenges as he was. Growing up in eastern Pennsylvania, Joe watched his grandparents decline, and helped them with basic needs. He often had to carry his grandfather up the stairs. This caretaking, and watching the nurses come in and out, had a tremendous impact on him. “I look at every senior as if they are my own grandparents, and I want what’s best for them.”

Joe’s family has a history of helping others- his grandfather was a pastor, and his grandmother a nurse. Joe’s mother was a psychologist in the prison system, and his sister is a Caregiver. “We are a clan of servers.” Joe received a B.A in Communications from Penn State University in 2016, and worked in retail with Verizon, Hardees and Sheetz. “I’ve been in customer service since I came into the workforce,” says Joe, “I’m a big people person!”

In 2019, Joe was thrilled to be introduced to the team at Avila Home Care. With a strong heart to serve, Joe wanted to work for Avila because their mission was like none he’d seen before. “I felt a true connection with the purpose and passion of Avila’s team, and every day I’m grateful to have the opportunity to serve seniors and their loved ones with empathy and grace.”

In Joe’s role as a Client Care Coordinator, he works with families to set up the schedule with Caregivers for their loved ones, and also provides administrative support for the office.

Joe loves to write poetry, and he used to be a comedian. He’s currently working on writing three books, and spends his free time writing, gaming or simply relaxing with his soon to be fiancé.
