Avila Home Care is excited to announce that our Caregiver of the Month for July 2025 is Jestina Thomas! Jestina was selected for her reliability, strong work ethic, and deep knowledge of care practices. She consistently shows perseverance, especially when working with complex or challenging cases, and remains calm and steady under pressure. Her dependability and professionalism make her a truly valued member of the Avila team. Avila Nurse Debbie Foreman shares, “Jestina is a hardworking, conscientious, gentle-spirited caregiver who is adaptable to a client’s changing needs. She is dependable and cares for the whole person—physically, emotionally, and spiritually. We are excited to announce that Avila has selected TWO exceptional Caregivers of the Month for June 2025- Jane Dameron and Shameka Henson- we just couldn’t decide which one to choose as both are so extraordinary! Jane’s dedication, kindness and compassionate spirit has made a lasting impact on all of her clients and their families. Jane epitomizes great caregiving, supporting her clients’ personal care needs, and also providing deep companionship. Caregiver Shameka Henson brings patience, strength, and warmth to every client. We are fortunate to have Shameka leading with heart, and exemplifying what exceptional caregiving looks like. We especially recognize both Jane and Shameka for their dedication with their shared long-time client, to whom they became like family. Their long-time client often shared how much she admired them, and that she truly thought the world of them. We thank Jane and Shameka for being an incredible part of Avila’s Caregiving team. Florence has been with Avila since 2021, and she arrives to work each and every day with unwavering patience and a deep commitment to providing the best care for her clients, making a real difference in the lives of those she supports. We are so excited to announce our first Caregiver of the Month from Avila’s Annapolis office- Alicja Kos-Lodhi! Alicja is a kind-hearted, dedicated, and compassionate Caregiver. She always goes above and beyond to make sure that her clients’ needs are met, and that they’re happy too. Alicja is steadfastly reliable, and wonderfully communicative. She is a pleasure to have on Avila’s Caregiving team, and her clients adore her- thank you and congratulations Alicja!

Announcing Rhonda Oliver as Avila’s Caregiver of the Month for March, 2025! We are delighted to bestow this honor upon Rhonda- she has been an incredibly dependable and compassionate Caregiver, and she is always willing to step in whenever needed. Rhonda is known for her calm, patient, and attentive nature, making a meaningful impact on her clients and their families. Her strong communication with the Avila office staff, reliability, and willingness to go above and beyond, make her a valued part of our team. We are thankful for her dedication and the care she provides every day. One of Rhonda’s clients shared: “Rhonda has done so much for my mom and my family—we are so grateful. I don’t know what I would do without her!” and “Rhonda took charge and is proactive. I would have her come every day if I could.” Congratulations, Rhonda!

Avila Home Care is honored to recognize Donald Ely as February 2025 Caregiver of the Month for his outstanding care and dedication! A recent client praised Donald’s patience, kindness, and excellent communication. “I have nothing but wonderful things to say about my father’s caregiver, Donald Ely. For the past four months he has shown such patience and kindness in caring for my father, who has experienced cognitive decline. Donald went above and beyond to ensure that my father was comfortable and safe. While spending time with my father, Donald maintained excellent communication with me, whether it was providing me updates on my father’s PT and speech therapy sessions, or letting me know about how his appetite had been that day. I had complete peace of mind whenever my father was in Donald’s attentive and thoughtful care. I would ask that Avila please recognize Donald as Caregiver of the Month.” Congratulations, Donald- we are privileged to have you on Avila’s Caregiving Team! Avila is thrilled to announce that Rosebell Anyanwu is Avila’s Caregiver of the Month for January 2025! Rosebell is an amazing and dependable Caregiver. She consistently goes above and beyond, staying late to help out her clients on numerous occasions without hesitation. And if a Caregiver is urgently needed at the last minute by an Avila client, Rosebell at the ready to pitch in. Rosebell’s top priority is always making sure her client gets the best care possible. We are very proud to have Rosebell Anyanwu on Avila’s Caregiving team!

Congratulations to Danielle Williams, Avila’s Caregiver of the Month for December 2024! Danielle is an awesome Caregiver- sweet and easy to get along with, she frequently agrees to special requests to start her shifts early, responds quickly, and goes the extra mile to ensure her client is well taken care of. She is wonderfully communicative with Avila’s office team whenever there is an update about her client. Danielle’s client is very thankful to have Danielle as a part of their caregiving team, and Avila is grateful to work with such an extraordinary Caregiver!
